Marc "Bonecrusher" Diakiese

Born March 16th 1993 - and hailing from The Democratic Republic of the Congo to the UK at the tender age of 12 – Diakiese is a shining example of how the words “success” and “undefeated” are a state of mind. Growing up with next to nothing, to becoming one of the UFC’s hottest world prospects is no small feat. Starting in 2010, Diakiese gained momentum on the amateur fighting scene, holding 3 national titles. Seemingly nothing slowed that hunger to win, as he soared into an undefeated professional record of 9-0 (with 2 of the most devastating sub-30s knockouts ever seen within the Bamma league) before being scouted by the UFC. And for good reason. The ‘Bonecrusher' made his UFC debut against Lukasz Sajewski on 8 October 2016 at UFC 204.

After being smothered by his opponent in the first round, Diakiese came back to win the fight by TKO as he made a swift a seemingly unlikely recovery, and began to overwhelm the outclassed Sajewski. He returned to face Frankie Perez on 9 December 2016 at UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Abdurakhimov. Despite losing the second round, Marc would go on to win the bout by unanimous decision. Diakiese faced Teemu Packalen on 18 March 2017 at UFC Fight Night: Manuwa vs. Anderson. He swiftly disposed of Packalen 30 seconds into the first round via a “marbalizing” knock out. This win earned the ‘Bonecrusher' his first Performance of the Night bonus. His current record: 12-3.

His explosiveness is not like the usual we see on the UFC stage. Diakiese lives his fight for the crowd, feeding off their energy as he unveils new techniques every fight. He hails his move to American Top Team as one of the “greatest decisions he’s ever made.” To be the best, you must train with the best. No doubt that Diakiese will be tested to his absolute limits. No doubt that this is only the beginning of his journey. Yet judging from past experience of how Marc handles the pressure, we have no doubt that this man will be a future champion within the UFC.
